Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick

The long-loved foundation stick by Bobbi Brown has been updated to include a transparent base plus skin tone correct pigments for an incredibly natural look. This foundation is available in a wide range of colours as seen above and below. I personally love using this foundation on darker skin. It is a creamy, moisturizing foundation that mimics the look of healthy skin. It provides a semi-matte finish and allows the skin to still look like skin! I can use this foundation in one light layer for a natural finish and a medium cover, or I can build it to give me a full cover. It says it can be used on all skin types, I would avoid using it on very oily skin though.

My favourite shades in my kit are Honey, Golden, Warm Almond, Almond and for those gorgeous deep dark skin tones Espresso is great.

Available at Bobbi Brown Stores for R430

Black Opal True Color Stick Foundation with SPF 15

Black Opal is a brand that caters especially for women of colour, their products are to die for and all very affordable! When I first discovered this foundation I was truly blown away. This foundation gives a beautiful natural finish without the need to apply too much. Full cover can also be achieved if needed. It is long-lasting. It doesn’t clog the pores and is Paraben free and Fragrance free. This Broad-Spectrum SPF15, hypoallergenic formula protects skin from UVA/UVB damage. I find that it gives a slightly more matte finish than the Bobbi Brown foundation mentioned above, but it is beautiful! I am truly in-love with this foundation as it gives a beautiful natural finish!

It is available in 10 shades as seen below:

Suede Mocha | Black Walnut | Carob | Beautiful Bronze | Hazelnut | Nutmeg | Truly Topaz | Rich Caramel | Heavenly Honey | Kalahari Sand

The shades that I have been using the most are Hazelnut, Beautiful Bronze and Carob for the more darker tones.

MAC Studio Finish Concealer SPF 35

This is by far my favourite concealer and the one I use the most on all skin types and colours! It is a creamy concealer than isn’t too creamy or too dry. I use it on young, mature, semi-dry, oily, normal, pale, dark..literally all skin types. It is lightweight and opaque and gives invisible cover with an emolient base that blends easily, and is water-resistant.

For darker skin I use these as my “colour correctors”, the first step to Perfect Foundation Application For Darker Skin. It is available in 15 shades. My go to colours for darker skin are the warmer NW shades in NW40; NW 45 and NW 50. For the really dark skins I have NW55 which they have discontinued, but every now-and-then MAC surprises us and they bring it out as a limited edition.

Available at MAC stores or for R210

Hi, your post was so informative.
The best foundations i have ever used was the K by Beverley Knight powder in 01, followed by Bobbi Brown Golden Honey in 5. 75.
Could you help me find a powder dupe for these? I have extremely oily skin.
