Life is Beautiful with Lancôme
Founded by the visionary and pioneer Armand Petitjean in 1935, Lancôme is celebrating 80 years of beauty in 2015. An opportunity to celebrate the women who inspire the brand, from its customers to its ambassadresses, and to affirm all year long through a series of joyful initiatives that indeed, life is beautiful with Lancôme.
Armand’s goal was to beautify women and increase their happiness. 80 Years later Lancôme still celebrates exactly that vision.
I was recently invited to jet off to Johannesburg to celebrate 80 Years of Beauty with Lancôme.
Along with my fellow Capetonian beauty lovers, we all got on the plane, excited for what the day and night had in-store. Once we arrived in JHB, we were taken to the Four Seasons Westcliff, one the most beautiful and luxurious hotels I have stayed at.
The day’s celebrations started with a three-course feast for lunch, followed by a Masterclass by the makeup genius German Moyano. We got to play with all the Lancôme makeup. The palette below was my favourite! Lancome Hypnose Palette Doll Eyes in Fraicheur Rosee (RRSP R650). Beautiful versatile colours, super pigmented but not messy.
He shared with us easy tips and techniques to creating the Effortless French Chic makeup look! He explains more about this in the video below with Expresso 😉
German has created three Effortless Makeup Looks especially suited to South African women, our lifestyle and taste. He created three different makeup looks for us, a Natural, Glamourous and Working Day makeup look.
These makeup looks are easy to create with just a few products needed. The best part is that the looks are suited to all skin colours! Visit your nearest Lancôme counter and get your recommended selection of products suited to your skin type, and skin colour, to re-create these easy looks below.
After the Masterclass we all headed off to our rooms. First thing I did was indulge in a long luxurious bubble-bath before getting ready for the party ahead! Below is the hair & makeup look I went for. (I never wear my hair in a center parting, it was fun trying something different.)
What a fun night it was!
Upon arrival we were all handed a rose, which we didn’t really know what to with, so we snapped a quick pic for the fun of it 🙂 Stole the below pic from Lauren’s Instagram from @dearheartbeauty (Her BLOG is awesome)
After mingling with some champagne and snacks in hand we were welcomed into the Ballroom..I wish I had a video of this!
As the doors flung open, Lauren and myself were right in-front and I just managed to snap a picture. They basically had a wall of smoke pouring down from the ceiling with an animated rose projection shining through the smoke! It was beautiful!
As one does, I had to get a pic of me covered in the rose animation 🙂
Expresso were there and they captured this video below of the event:
In the Ballroom we watched this AMAZING video describing the Essence of Lancôme, and we spoke about the makeup looks German had created for us, the gorgeous South African women!
Lancôme in the words of its ambassadresses
