LANCÔME La Vie Est Belle

Lancôme La vie est Belle

Art Directed and Styled by Marlinette Newman (EDT Pictured above)

Fragrance Family: Floral (Sweet with a hint of Citrus)

In Three Words: Feminine, Powdery, Lightweight

My Experience: (I tested the fragrance on a cardboard strip before reading about it, and this is what the scent made me think of)
This fragrance takes me back to the scene in The Great Gatsby, where Nick walks into the room where Daisy is lying on the couch, the soft chiffon curtains are blowing wildly in the wind, flowing over her skin with her laughing and playing in it. A fragrance for a girly, fun, lighthearted but well composed and super feminine women. It’s sweet and innocent! A fragrance I imagine Daisy would’ve worn.

La vie est belle is a French expression meaning Life is Beautiful. A philosophy of life and happiness.

The triumph of being over possessions and appearances. Back to basics. A quest for meaning. One’s own meaning. A new era characterised by a rejection of a world that’s gold-plated, or defined by rigid precepts: dictates of fashion, of money over matter, of being sexy no matter what…

It’s about choosing oneself and choosing what is best for oneself as an individual. Finding one’s own path, joy and light.

“La vie est belle,” proclaims the new Lancôme fragrance.
There is no pretention in this declaration; it is simply a pure and self-evident truth.

A fragrance infused with meaning, with both a conscience and a soul.

Who better to represent this fragrance than the joyful and feminine Julia Roberts.

Beautifully feminine with that radiant smile that lights up the entire room. She is an honest, truthful women that shows diversity. She is soft, feminine but also completely in control. She makes her own choices and paves the way to her future.

Serving as the fragrance’s backbone is Iris. Generally expressed as a Mid note, in this fragrance it blossoms from the first to the last note. To illuminate and lift this floral heart, Sambac Jasmine and Tunisian orange blossom flowers were added.

Bringing strength, potency and depth to this fragrance is the exceptional Indonesian Patchouli.

Finally, the lingering Top note, like spun sugar infused with notes of vanilla, tonka bean, praline, blackcurrant and pear, bringing the childlike innocence to this fragrance.

I find it funny. I’ve always wondered if it really actresses and models who campaign really wear perfume, I doubt it.This is just to promote a product, if used, will be while they are campaigning and for a while I think.
